ASCI disclosure guide

How Instafluence checks a post against India’s ASCI rules: an accepted tag in the caption’s first line, the paid-partnership label, and an on-screen label on videos.

Updated 05-11-2026

The caption’s first line

The first line of the caption needs an accepted tag, among its first three hashtags: #ad, #advertisement, #sponsored, #collaboration, #partnership, #affiliate, #freegift or #employee.

#collab or #sp on its own doesn’t count.

The paid-partnership label

The platform’s paid-partnership label must be on. If it can’t be read, the post needs a person to look.

Videos

A video needs a label on screen. A person confirms it: at least 3 seconds on videos up to 15 seconds; a third of the running time on videos up to 2 minutes; throughout the brand’s part on longer videos.

When a post fails

A failed check starts a 48-hour window to fix it. Nothing is sent to the creator: the fix request is a draft your team sends.

Other markets

Outside India the check is a baseline: a clear label such as #ad in the first line, before other hashtags.
